When you turn up at a new break it is very important to understand the way the waves are breaking and how the current is moving around the wave zone. Not only so you can see where to sit to catch the best waves and perhaps stay out of other surfers way but also to stay safe. We show you how the sets line-up how frequent they are breaking and of course we wait to see how big the largest sets are so we can assess how we are going to get out through the breakers and what to do if we get caught on the inside
